Interested in a Night Rod, and was wondering what years had any significant upgrades to perhaps ABS, Pipes, etc. I'm thinking 2013 and newer. There is a used one for sale by me, but heavily modified and owner wants to get his money out of the upgrades it seems....
For what he's asking, I can almost buy a new one.......close cat least
Are you talking about 2006 to 2008 Night Rod, or the 2007 to present Night Rod Special ? ?
If it is the first production of the Night Rod that lasted 3 years the 2008 was the best year, it
had the 1200cc engine not the 1130cc. The 2007 to present Night Rod Special & the V-Rod
Muscle may be out of production soon, so buy a new one if you can. I hear some dealers
have been giving discount on what they have in stock, to move them off their floors.
If it was me I would get the Muscle, and see if the dealer can throw in mid-controls for cost.
2008 upgraded to larger motor. Not sure which Year ABS started but the body styling also changed in 2013 I think. I had a 2007 vsrcdx and prefer that body styling to the newer transformer look
I bought an 07 this past December with under 7k miles and a bagger kit for $9000. Not disappointed at all. Infact I added a touring front fender, turbo system, and am in the process of stereo and headlight upgrades. They are great bikes. That said, you never get what you have in them, when customizing. Talk him down and buy it, if it is what you want. You still save plenty over doing it yourself.
