Default 2002 VRSCA Battery Location?

where is the battery located? i plan on goin to look at a V-rod, it has no battery.. the bike isnt running and it has no battery.. Where is it located and does it take a special type of battery? Thanks

Take the air box cover off(Looks like gas tank) remove the air filter cover and air filter the battery is in between the frame tubes right behind the steering neck. I don't think it takes a special battery just the right deminsions it's really tight fittin. Any other questions PM me I'll help if I can.

How do I take the Top air box cover off? anyone?

Turn the bailhead fastener at the rear of the airbox cover under the seat 1/4 turn and lift slightly, then slide the airbox cover back to disengage it from the pin mount at the front. Lift free from the bike but be careful to not hit the upper tree/bottom of the instrument cluster.

the air filter assembly will also have to be removed to get to the battery compartment, the compartment is near the head tube, the air filter stuff can be easily removed with an allen wrench, I don't recall what size... I changed a battery on a VRSCA last spring, it took only about 15 minutes.
