Default Back on two wheels after 22+ years with my first HD.

Howdy from North Texas. A little about me, Im a gear head by trade. I rode bikes since I was 10-11 years old all through the 80's, 90's and into 2000's. I got my first street bike at 18. Never did the cruiser thing unless I rode my dads Harley trike which wasn't too often. I rode sport bikes until I sold my last bike in 2001 due to life changes. Flash forward 22+ years and I have finally settled down out in the country with back roads a plenty and they were calling me. Decided to find me a cruiser and landed on a 2013 Dyna Wide Glide a few weeks ago. I have already been changing stuff to my liking and for longer riding including a Memphis Shades fairing, LED headlights and turn/brake signal lights, new saddleman 2up seat and ready for stage 1 and 2 when I have money. Just blew my last wad on Chrome Todd's 14" striper bars and burly cable kit ready to go on this weekend. Just waiting on better rider weather!

Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan!
I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Take to an office supply store and have them put a spiral binder in place of the glued binder. That will let the manuals lay flat on your bench. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, a rough idea of your range per tank, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding, and upwards of 230+ on trips.
