Hey to everyone out there that just likes to ride. New rider here (used to ride smaller bikes '66 till '75, but over 30 years since riding, getting on a '07 Fat Boy for the first time on the day I bought it (five days ago) makes me feel like a bona fide novice. Took the riders course, but it was on a 250cc, so the first ride home on the big bike was an adventure.
Hope the novice thing won't last long. I've ridden every day since I got the bike (all 5 of them) and just got back from a trip up to Kings Canyon National Park (just a 50 mile run for me). My HD dealer said to just ride the bike normally to break it in and not to worry about the 55 MPH limit. Had the bike up to 75 (briefly)- good idea or no? Also, had originally wanted to keep bike stock and just ride, but am considering benefits of a windshield.
