Greetings from New Mexico. If I may, I'd recomend a rider's safety course (Have a friend take you and maybe loan ya a bike...) then test ride a few prior to sinking bucks into a decision. Best of luck and welcome to the forum.

If you are interested in a pre '60's Harley as your first motorcycle, I hope you are not a newbie wrench. You will need a better than average tool set and experience to keep one running satisfactorily. Back in the 60's and 70's we spent a good deal of time dealing with maintenance and broken stuff on motorcycles.
Luckily, aftermarket parts are pretty much available.
You may be much happier with something newer if riding is your primary interest.
