Greetings from South Dakota
Just passed my class last week and going to pick up license tomorrow. Then shopping time. Probably going to end up with a sporty given current budget. But with the rally and lots of people trading in who knows what will pop up on the market in the next couple of weeks.
The class was on the new street 500s (mine had 56 miles on it), which seemed decent enough. I'm 6'2/240 and didn't feel cramped, once I had the seat changed. The middle seat had me in danger of becoming a suprano getting squished against the tank like that. Sadly I have no other experience to compare them to anything. They sound like a sewing machine, no doubt to comply with the various epa/noise laws. I'm sure there will be decent pipes in the near future. The cooling fan on the radiator needs some thought. At first I thought I had a mosquito in my helmet, or there was an idiot light buzzer going off. Easy to handle/build confidence with so that was a plus. Don't think I'd want to try to learn on a full dresser.
Anyway I've been lurking for a few weeks, but thought I'd sign in and say hello.
