OP, I I'm just curious to know what the date code is on those tires. You may have had them for three years but they could have been laying in a warehouse for a few years too

Also, where does the bike sit when you're traveling? Is sunlight deteriorating the tires? Was the bike on the jiffy stand most of that time with weight on the tires? Were you keeping up with pressures even though the bike sat? Could this deterioration been where the tire was sitting on the ground while parked?

I also have a tire that looks exactly like that one. I contacted the company and sent a picture. They drug their feet and did not want to anything. It sits in the garage to remind me of getting screwed. But on the good side I seen the failure before the tire failed

No. All around the tire. Plenty of spots where it was pulling up but did not come off.

Didn’t bother with Metzler. Don’t have the time nor the patience for the run around. It was on my ‘08 ultra classic don’t know size off top of my head but what ever is the rrecomended size for that year/model. This was my third and last set of Metzlers on this bike.

Bike is garaged and kept off the floor on my frame lift so I can roll it against the wall. Tight garage and this saves some space. Tire pressure was checked the night before and I wasn’t looking but didn’t notice any separation then. No sunlight. Deterioration was around the entire tire.

The ME 880s went to sh*t when they started making them in Brazil. In fact, I'd try just about any tire before riding one of those.

I know a lot like the Avon's. Are they worth it?
