Default Axel size

Hi
Can anyone tell me what size wrench I need to pull the rear axel off my 2002 Road King? I just bought new tires and am not sure of the correct size of nut.Unchartered territory for me.Thanks

yup 36mm who would a thunk it.American built metric nut.Now to find decent price for new pads anybody got a suggestion?

US Government signed a law to go metric in 1975. They forgot to say when! Most of the rest of the world has done it and I guess Harley is finding it difficult to resist. 08 and later Harleys have metric wheel bearings....
