Fat Boy wheels for 95 Heritage Nostalgia
I need some knowledgible help here. I bought a 1995 FLSTN with terrible wire wheels, rusted, missing spokes etc.
I would like to know what year(s) Fat Boy solid wheels will bolt right on. Maybe spacers required, but basically a bolt on wheel.
I have a set I bought with 3/4" axel, but they must be later than 95 as they will require modifications. Mods like boring out the front brake disc to fit the aluminum wheel, the rear wheel pully is a different width than the Heritage pully. I was going to work at making parts to make them fit , but if there are wheels from an earlier Fat Boy that will work, why bother.
Any help is appreciated. No guess work please. Looking for answers that people know will work.
thanks

The things to look out for are 3/4" tapered roller bearings. Those wheels have smaller diameter holes in the rotor and pulley centres. Later ball bearing wheels with 3/4" bearings have larger centres in the rotors/pulleys. Look for wheels up to model year 1999.
This is a suitable front.

I have a set of fat boy wheels with 3/4 avel. The raised od of the wheel is lager than the i.d. of the rotors off the wire spoke wheels. I can bore the front rotor and maske spacers to make it fit, but would like to have the correct wheel IF? one exist. Not sure if the early or mid 90's fat boy simply did not have the same size i.d. on rotor as the regular heritage or in my case Nostalgia which I am assuming is the same rotor as the regular Heritage in the same year(s).
As to the back Fat Boy wheel: the belt pulley is a different width than the Nostalgia in my particular case.
So my deeper question is did Fat Boys simply have different width pullies than the Heritage? If not, what year will have the correct width pulley?
Has anyone made this swap of Fat Boy wheels onto a Heritage in the 95 model?
thanks
