Default Newer wheels on an old bike...

Last year I bought a 1975 FLH off of my dad's buddy. He had the bike for 15+ years and the bike has always looked the same. Not that its a bad looking bike but, I have been making some changes to make it my own. My question is will newer style wheels fit on this bike? I may buy some wheels for it after this season and am curious. My original thought was new spokes with fat whitewall tires, but I just want to know all my options. A friend's dad tried to sell me his enforcer wheels off his Street Glide but I wasn't sure how that would work out or even if it would look right. Looking for some education and opinions on this....
