Just so you know, it wasn't just my mother's father who rode. Here's a picture of my other grandfather on his first motorcycle. He ran the Nash agency in McGraw, NY.

My grandfather built and operated this gas station as well as the motorcycle shop in back. The family lived upstairs. You can see my mother and my uncle playing by the gas pumps. My grandfather sold the business in 1945 and bought a defunct farm outside of town to retire. I grew up next door to my uncle and grandparents in a house my dad built.
