About 15 minutes later you get to Fort Steele, there is a Gas station and campground right there with lots of parking and popcorn. I stopped there for a good hour just sitting and enjoying some chat with fellow travelers. When you leave the gas station, head left and go down the Fort Steel/Bull river road, a very nice diversion. This picture is of Baker mountain, just a few hundred yards down the road.

When I got into Cut Bank, I hid in here with a bunch of other people. The storm was heading East, and so was I. So I decided to tie down in Cut Bank in a motel.

After the top of the pass. 7,100 ft, and an open valley, I had lunch with this guy. Funny story, they had no potato's. So I said "I am in Idaho, right" she says "uhuh" I said "and you got no potato'". Everyone in the restaurant burst out laughing.

Left is north and home, right is Death Valley. It was so windy here, my gloves and sunglasses blew off the seat when I was focused on somehing else. I found the gloves, but there is a perfectly good pair of sunglasses in that brush somewhere. Lee Vinning is to the left and that is where I stayed. And got a cheap pair of glasses. I am certain there are rattlers hiding in those brushes. Those glasses where not that good.
