Started riding at age 14 with Yamaha Twin Jet 100. 9.5 hp, capable of 65 mph laying down over handle bars. Triumph 650 Bonneville was next, then 500 and 750 CB Hondas, then brand new '76 500 and '77 750 XS Yamahas (wife drove the 500's !). Moved up to a '79 Yamaha XS1100, on which I put on 110,000 miles. In 2002, I purchased a 1984 Yamaha Venture Royale that I restored over a period of two years, and rode until the tranny blew in 2006, leaving me stranding 165 miles from home.
