My first scooter

1976 Harley Sportster 1000 cc I purchased new. She turned some heads in her day!
Built it myself, this was the fourth reincarnation. Pulled the wiring thru the frame for this one.
The first time I built it it was candy red the second candy root beer third candy blue. On the forth went back to my favorite candy red.

Electric start batteries were so unreliable I retrofitted a kick start. The seat back was made so a removable sissy bar could be slid in or removed. I made the fender strut and installed it in such a way as to carry the line up to sissy bar.

I canned the under chassis shift linkage and returned the shift to the right. After the years of riding right hand shift it took a little bit to get used to left hand shift on my Indian.
