Nicest motor I've ever owned or driven. Must slip clutch to 2000 RPM to prevent hesitation, but not an issue, as torque curve is SO broad; difficult to prevent wheelspin in first 2 gears. Rear tire SHOT at 7500 miles.
2). 75Hp/93.5 Torque FLHTCU MotoTrike Conversion, Just switched to S&S 551 easy-start cams (will actually run down mainstreet now at 1000 rpm w/out stalling) to remedy hot starting issue w/out compression releases and SE204 cams (Bad issue, HD shop said Comp. releases NOT needed with HD 103 kit at 9.85 to one CR. Hot Starting not always possible, plus was grinding down gear on starter clutch to point I'd have to replace soon. Starter also lasts LT one year according to counter personnel at local parts shop). One Lifter face was BADLY worn, with only 6,000 miles! Dyno'ed at Dubuque HD last week of June, 2011. Numbers seem low for a 103ci, 9.85 to one motor, but there IS a lot more running gear with a trike, plus I am running 80dB Bub 7 Stealth 50 state legal mufflers. Plan to run Springer on same Dyno this week for data correlation. None the less, it hauls my 650# camper with cruise on from 30 mph to 90 mph without overheating (has Baker 1 Qt Oil pan, LaNale Cooling Fan, and HD Touring Oil Cooler). HD Big Twin Compensator, Rivera Clutch w/ Mueller Power Clutch Actuator, firm pull, HD springs. Has 30 Tooth Andrews front pulley, 75mph=2830 RPM. Heads have 208# SE Beehive conical springs, and forged rocker supports in case I re-install my 1.725 to one rocker armS, would equate to 0.581" lift, springs rated for 0.585". REAR HEADPIPES WRAPPED WITH HEAT WRAP TO PROTECT RIDER, AND INSTALLED KURY AIR DEFLECTOR (ROUTE AIR THRU CENTER OF FRAME, RIDER FEELS no HEAT FROM EXHAUST SYSTEM) .Max oil T 265 Reg. Harley 20W50, 245 w/ Synthetic Royal Purple 20W50. SWITCHING TRANS TO 90w140 ROYAL PURPLE SYTHETIC NEXT CHANGE, AS CHAMPION REVERSE STRAIGHT CUT GEAR CLASHES SOME WHEN ENGAGING.
