A 19 year old Female turned left into my path at an intersection. Her driver side bumper made first contact with my left leg which then made contact with my primary, snapped my tibia and fibula and twisted the motor in the frame. She stated at the scene to the Police she didn't see me. If she did't see me, she was distracted.
2 inches of my tibia was left at the scene. My orthopedic trauma surgeon harvested stem cells to grow the missing bone. I have endured 10 surgeries to date and have not yet been back to work.
I was wearing a helmet, but didn't need it in this case. I never lost conciousness. A fellow biker stopped at the scene to tell me "...your bike isn't that f*&ked up, but your leg is a mess and your bones are sticking out on the pavement." You fellow bikers have such a way with words...
