An HDforums member was asking how to french Rocker lights. I didn't do the work myself but thought these photos would be of use to community members. I should mention that the work was completed by pairadice paint.
I don't have the specifics on the lens material but what I do know is that the material used was a cast-able, liquid urethane plastic, which can be tinted with red dye. Since the lenses are red, clear 2 way (running light and brake light) LEDs were used.
The LEDs are about 1/2" thick and waterproof. I don't have the exact part number for the LEDs but I think they were $20 each or so. Other painters were quoting me over $100 per LED. The LED's were hot glued in place using industrial strength hot glue and then I covered them up with some aluminum tape. If you do tape them, make sure you provision for drainage as water will get in and will need to get out. Read more ยป
