These r whats on my back rim. These are spoke weights? Just the two. I remember them already being there plus the lead weights on my rim which are now gone.

So im in the process of getting tools to install some passenger footpegs on my sportster 72. Which means i have to remove the pipe, belt guard cover, and rear break master cylinder. I ordered the service manual for torque specs but it does not list the tool sizes i need to remove the parts.

I was lost all day trying to find the right tools. A guy at an oreilys explained to me that now a days bikes or vehicles are either metric or standar. Standard being in fraction and metric in mm. So in the pic on the left i have a 5/15 allen hex bolt in it. It pretty good in there. I tried a T50 hex nut bolt and its snug snug in there. Like i have to apply pressure to get it in and to take it out i have to tug!. BUT the allend wrench on the right in the pic is a 3/16 and it seems to fit good

And this T50 star hex bit star wrench fits perfectly in the master cylinder fastners that are tightened to the master cylinder support bracket and into the frame.

Sooo i made a big mistake! When tightening the 3/16 allen bolt on the lower bottom of the sprocket cover belt guard it broke off!! I was using my torque wrench to get the specs right. I never heard it click! Instead it snapped off. Leaving the bolt stuck in the frame! W a little bit showing.

Any tips on how to remove that broken off piece out of the frame? And where do i get another allen 3/16 bolt to replace it? Any one know the length? I just put the cover on for now. I havent even put the pipes back on. For i only got 1 exhaust gasket. Thinking i will be able to remove just one but they are joined together so i had to remove both pipes.grr its been a hard day for such a simple job. Im really bumbed about my damn foul up!

Ok so i definetley fouled up. I did not read it right. It is inch lbs. I missread it and was thinking foot lbs. So from that i learned to read carefully and to get some proper sleep and not to rush things lol.

So the one on tge left is the broken bolt. The one in the middle is the one harley davidson gave me but its 2 inches...a quarter to long. The one on the right is the right length, 1 3/4. But my only concern is its not threaded all the way. Idk if itll fit properly. Only way to find out is to get that broken off bolt out first!

On a more positive note, bolt removed!! This medal bracket im touching was easily removable. I removed that and more of the broken bolt was accesible. So w a simple twist w a plyers i was able to remove it no problem! Just one more question. Should i put thread lock, medium blue in the fasteners that connect the pipes, flange to the head?

So i have another problem! Im trying to reinstall the pipes. The pipe bracket clamp will not fit from the sprocket guard entension to the pipe. I cant get the damn thing to fit. The pipe is to far away from the sprocket cover

So the sportsers back together now! But yet another problem. Today i left it on while working on it. So now my bikes dead. I bought this thing. Jump started it and rode it for 5 minutes or less maybe. Turned it off, tried starting it up again a lil after but no start up. I jad to go to work so i couldnt deal w it. The sporsters batthery is 12v right? And will this be ok to use on it? I dont want to mess it up or make things worse...even though ive used it once already lol

After that i want to get a dished tank, maybe risers for my handle bars or just bigger apes to put me in a more comfortable riding position. Exhaust and fuel management system. But i dont think it looks to bad stock.

Im just a little confused on the metric or standard tires issue.

Im a little confused on a couple of things. 1. Is the tires metric or standard? Im thinking standard but im not to sure. 2. Is the the tires tubless or have a tube? 3. According to the chart above my tires size would be what? Front tire: 90×54×21 Rear: 150×80×16 .....to put in the calculator? Just unsure on those things. But putting the stuff according to the video seems pretty easy!

So my back requires 11 oz of ride on. I emptied one bottle of the stuff, which is 8 oz, so i meed 3 more ounces. W the bottle upside down do i empty the stuff till it hits that 4 oz marker line or the one above. Just confused on where 3 more ounces would be.

And also, how do i get rid of these spoke wheel weights? Do i need a special tool?

They look like they would come off easy but they are on there pretty good. Cants twist them off or anything. I think ill just leave them on there so i dont make things worse lol.

Have you ever used or heard of one of these? A digital torque wrench adapter. You could turn any ratchet into a torque wrebch. Or even do maintenance checks on your torque wrenches! Im very interested in this. They sell them at harbor freight. The have adapters of 1/2 inches that convert to 3/8 &1/4.

Im having a bit of issues w a passenger and passenger pegs on my sportster. They get in my way when im breaking and/or trying to back the motorcycle in a parking spot. They hit my calfs, and its even worse when my gf is on as well. Her boots get in my way when im coming to a stop. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions or advice to help solve them?

It came w the wire cable but im thinking its to thin so maybe ill upgrade it. Ill put my neck cover over the carabiner and cable like a sleeve so it doesnt attract to much attention.

Ill have my girl put my jacket on so its over hers and shell run the cable through one sleep. Ill wrap them around my sissy bar. Place helmets on seat and one ontop of the sissy bar and run the cable through the chin guards and wrap them around the sissy bar and lock them w the carabeaner. Looks like a neat lil package.

As i was looking around i noticed this hose. Not plugged into anything and i noticed some residue next to it. Is this hose where it releases oil if its overfilled and there is to much in the system?
