I used a bit of caliper grease on the pad pins and on the back of the pads themselves.

Use a wire brush and Brake-Clean to get all the crud off the piston. It should look nice and shiny after the brushing.

Look at that crud. Not shown: ample amounts of Brake-Clean. Also, don't get that stuff on your paint.

I used some c-clamps to hold 3 pistons in then pumped the brake lever until the fourth was about 1/2" out. Any farther and you risk them popping out completely which is a whole new can of worms.

Caliper removed. For future readers, the socket size is a metric one. 12pt 10mm to get the calipers off. Then a 12pt 1/4" for the pad pins. I'm sure this is common knowledge, but you never know who is reading.

Point when brakes would start to engage... As you can see, this wasn't ideal.

This is the point where the brakes would begin to engage. Too close for my liking.

All put together and looking shiny. I spent the time I was waiting for parts and stuff cleaning and cleaning and cleaning.

Couldn't resist taking it out around the block. Seems to run very well.

Lol. Kind of important to connect the plug wires after you reinstall them I guess.

Connecting these proved to be quite difficult...

As it sits. Don't mind my ghetto solution to keeping it upright. This was so the cylinders would soak evenly in the PB Blaster.

...until I brought out the big guns. Obviously use the low setting and keep the heat source far enough away so that it doesn't melt the pipe.

Oh yeah. We've got power! And the power came with some great news: this bike only has 9600 miles on it? This may not be as bad as I thought...

Only use grade 0000. It takes a little longer but the risk of scratching the paint or even some metal bits is way less.

After draining the phosphoric acid out, I neutralized the tank with a healthy amount of baking soda and water.

After drying out the tank with the blower, it was time for everyone's favorite not-lubricant to do some work. In case anyone reading this doesn't know, the WD stands for water displacement.

After draining as much fluid out as possible, it was time to bust out the big guns.
