Default RAOD KING BARS

I am new to the site and I am trying to decide on how to replace my stock handle bars with chrome bars. I don't want to replace the cables if I don't have to. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

I have a 07 Road King. The stock bars were my only complaint about the bike. They were terrible. For $59.00, I bought some stock Heritage bars. This was the best money I spent on the bike. They look real good, are very comfortable and I didn't have to change any wires or cables. It took longer to get that stupid riser cover off than it did to install the bars.

I replaced my bars with the Road King High bars. You do not have to change your cables. It only takes about an hour to do if you take your time. It made my bike much more comfortable to ride.

Any ideas how much it will cost to replace the cables, i would probably go stainless. Are the heritage bars chrome?

I recommend the CHUBBY® R.K. II bars Part # WO518, you can install these without lengthening the cables. Here's a link: http://www.wild1inc.com/handlebars.html- These are very comfortable, I am 5'10" and my hands drop right in place. The stock bars were very uncomfortable and my arms were fully extended. Good luck choosing your new bars.

It depends on what cables you use but I am about to do this project too and cable are going to run me $300. (throttle, idle, clutch, and brake)

You can run some pretty wide and/orhigh bars without changing cables. You just need to reroute them. I have 39" wide beach bars on mine and still have the stock cables. I just had to replace the brake lines. I've done this on more than one bike with several different bars.

Going along with the handlebar questions, on my 07 RKC, the color almost has a yellow tint to it. Are these chrome or no? I just thought it was an inferior chrome job. I'd like to put on fat bars retaining the stock shape, and hide wires.

HD chrome Heritage bars. About $50 and no new cables needed.
