Going along with the handlebar questions, on my 07 RKC, the color almost has a yellow tint to it. Are these chrome or no? I just thought it was an inferior chrome job. I'd like to put on fat bars retaining the stock shape, and hide wires.
Nope, not chrome. Your stock bars are stainless. They look nice and shiny on the showroom floor and then start to yellow about the same time you get the bike home. Check out the HD catalog. You can get chrome replacement bars....Just another way for the MoCo to get in your wallet.

I am going ape! Been looking around for a fat bar. All I can find is 1 1/4, but have heard there is a fat 1 1/2 bar out there with a 16" rise, anyone have a clue? I am 6'2" and figure these wont be to high, but as they say, the cooler you look the more uncomfortable you are. I will be doing the stainless lines, and want to switch out the controls to chrome. Saw that there is a chrome cover out there, anyone have anything to say about them.-PapaTravis

Anyway to get the Heritage Bars (the exact dimensions) AND get internal wiring?

I am not sure if H-D makes them and I am not too impressed with Wild1s (nice bars, but not what I am looking for).

can you drill into H-D bars for the wires?

Thanks,

You can. But the deminsion of the bars make it a tight fit, for going internal. A 1 1/4" bar, might be what you are looking for. I went with 1 1/4" x 18" apes. Works for me! I really like the street slammer bars. They are 1 1/4" thick, and can run internal wires.

I have a 07 Road King. The stock bars were my only complaint about the bike. They were terrible. For $59.00, I bought some stock Heritage bars. This was the best money I spent on the bike. They look real good, are very comfortable and I didn't have to change any wires or cables. It took longer to get that stupid riser cover off than it did to install the bars.

I have an extraset of the H-D 'chubby' Koad King bars...

They have the wiring harness extenders, allow for internal wiring and also have different risers to accomodate the larger bars.

PM me if you are interested.

I have the Wild1 'chubby' Beach Bars on the bike now - they are very comfortable.
