Default Need Road King Handle Bars

I have 07 Road King Classic with stock bars and seat. I really need different bars with more pullback. I dont want to have to change my cables or seat at this time. Can I get some advice on which bars will work, how much pullback you gain, etc... Thanks

I have an 07 road king and just replaced the stock bars with the RK high bars (PN#55954-00). The pullback is the same, but the main difference is an additional 3 inches of rise. I don't find myself stretching like I did with stock, but I'm not sure if I like them. Maybe it'll take some getting use to, but they feel too close. I like the height, but I would have preferred less pull back (even though it's the same 9" as stock, just feels like more because of the height). These would certainly alleviate the stretch issue, and they can be used with existing cables.

I got the Wild1 518's. In the process of putting them on now. They say you can use existing cables and such (although I went with a set of +4 braided). One thing I can tell you for sure... the wiring is not near long enough to run through the bars and hook back up. Maybe something changed on the '07 models. I wasn't sure if the +4 wire extensions would do it either, so I opted for the +8's. These seem to be ~ 3" or so more pull back than stock.

I've got Heritage bars on my 06 RKC, the positioning is great. I really like them.

I second the Heritage bars and I only paid about $40 in Texas. I hated the stock RK bars and took them off after the second or third long ride. I have since moved on to 16" apes and that is far superior than the Heritage bars, but cost me $$ for cables, bars, etc.

Same here! Still great! And the price was right. I just don't understand why the factory doesn't offer these on the RK. It seems that everyone is looking to change the RK bars when they get one...I did and so are you. Good luck.

I just installed the RK high bar (55954-00) on my '04 Road King Classic. I did actual measurements comparing the stocker to the new high bar. Obviously measurements will vary as you rotate the bars, so I measured with both bars at the exact same angle. The high bar gave me 2" more rise and 1" more pullback. Don't pay too much attention to the dimensions posted in the HD catalog. They frequently don't make sense and in many cases are just plain wrong.

I love the high bar - it is a huge improvement over the miserable stocker. It also looks great since it is chrome plated and not stainless steel like the stocker. Unlike a poster above, I personally would have liked another 1" of pullback. This will vary from rider to rider since we all are built different, may have different seats, etc... All stock cables, lines and wires reached easily without any modifications needed.

I had originally bought a set of Chubby's WO508 Road King bars. I ended up not putting them on because of a lousy wrist angle, so I sold them to my neighbor who has a Road King Custom. The Chubby's look great, I just didn't like the "wheelbarrel" angle it put my wrists in. I opted not to go with the WO518's (better wrist angle) because of a lack of sufficient pullback.

I also had the Road King High bars before I put my apes on. They were much better than the stock. Plus, for 50 bucks, you can't go wrong. Easy to install too. But, I bet the heritage bars would work well for you also.

Beefy Beach Bars. Nice pull back, comfortable, look good. No new cables.
