Default HOW TO- Use the Search Function on HDForums!

Alright Boys and Girls,

Today we are going to explore the Search Function and it's many uses! The range of it's uses are limitless and will help find information ranging from the following: [ul][*]Ordinary and/or Technical Questions[*]Service Bulletins and[*]How-To's and Do-It-Yourselfs[*]A sea of information about Handlebars (and yes, Timmy, apes are included!)[*]Pictures of the aforementioned handlebars, of windshields, of seats, of pipes, of air cleaners and not to mention, hot betties! [/ul]So if you are looking to find your information and would like to have easy, accessible information that is already available without having to post and then wait for responses, then let's all gather around and embark on this wonderful exploratory journey!

There are Two Very Easy Steps to conducting a search. [ol][*]First, find the Search Link at the top of your screen and click it. Yes, you can access the Search Function from any page on the HD Forums website! You will access the https://www.hdforums.com/search.asp page.[*]Then, enter your query and hit the "OK" button. ( A query is a type of search. Answers.com defines the word as follows: To interrogate a collection of data such as records in a database.) [/ol]

Now enter your query and hit OK:

You will then be taken to a page featuring all relevant topics associated with the Search Terms that you entered in the search screen. There, You've done it! easy peasy, lemon squeezy! [sm=roll.gif]

Sometimes, though, the results can be confusing. And confusing can sometimes be a bad thing!

The next section will focus on narrowing your search and successfully getting the results that you want! Stay tuned, kids.

Part 2. Advanced Operations!

Did your results turn out like this?

As previously mentioned. Some times, the results are just not cracked up to torque specs. Do not panic! When this occurs, boys and girls, do not fret!

1) Return to the original screen:

2) Modify your search options by clicking any of the following areas (you can specify a whole lot- try different things out!):

3) There, that is much better:

Enjoy the endless possibilities!

Oh, and be a good neighbor, tell all of your new friends how to get to this thread so that they, too, can enjoy the fun of Searching on HDForums!

&nbsp\\;
if you don't like people asking the same thing over and over, you should probably leave.&nbsp\\; Every forum on the internet, covering every topic imaginable, has the same "problem" "issue", whatever you want to call it
&nbsp\\;
I suggest you get used to it and just don't read the ones that are obviosly going to irritate you.
&nbsp\\;
Much nicer than thinking you are cute and really just being a smart azz
