Getting ready to remove the front wheel off my 95 FB to go get a new tire put on. I ran over a friggin screw. Are there any "gotchas" or anything special I need to watch out for?
Nope, pretty simple job if you have a bike jack. You need a torque wrench and torque specs for reassembly. Nice bike. What part of NE TN are you located?
while the wheel is off check front break pads fore wear would be a good time to replace them if they need to be.also dont apply front break with the wheel off.good luck
The tire and wheel are heavier than you think. Keep the jack low until you get the axle out or your bike might do a back flip off the jack. Make sure to coat the axle with anti-sieze when you put it back together.
clean the axial and coat with anti seise. be sure the bearings are good and be sure there is no slack or too snug of the center spacer between the bearings, remove the brake caliper first, mark the spacers left and right, oh and be sure to strap down the bike as it will tip to the rear when the tire is removed.
