Kappa 62.11i's to BT 7.1pros
Made the switch looking for mid, definition and some lows. I have been upping the power from a PBR to a CV B2 using a KDC-998 HU. First video is the Kappa's before I removed them. Two layers of polyfill and some sound deadening in the fairing.
Now with the BT 7.1pros and no polyfill. I did not change anything but the gain (AP on both videos) from 1:00 to maybe 2:00.
Haven't had time to start fiddling with it yet but will with some recommendations from haze.

I thought the same but the Kappa's are 2ohm and the amp feeds 250w's to each. The BT 7.1pros are 4ohm and the same amp now feeds 150w's. Without spending time to make the adjustments to bring it to life I made a slight gain change during install just to try and kick more to the BT's but I really think I need more power.
I ordered the CV B52 which should increase the output another 50w's per side to the BT's. When the snow clears and the amp is delivered next week I should have had plenty of time to dial it in. I'll work on it with the current amp this weekend to bring the sound to its optimal level and post a video to see the capabilities of the CV B2. The final video will be a B2 to B52 comparison.

I went from the Kappas/PBR300 to the 7.1s/B52. With the PBR, the 7.1's didn't have near enough punch, the B52 fixed that. Now at maybe 75% volume it's almost too loud, that's with the gain at about 1:00.
The 7.1's are really "bright", maybe a little too much for me. I have the treble down, bass up, but I still feel it's missing something at the lower/mid end. The Kappas/PBR were pretty well balanced.
I may have to try the new line leveler thingy
=edit= Just noticed you have the pros, apples & oranges I suppose.
=another edit= Please see the thread here.... I had the BT speakers wired wrong! https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...l#post14618205

^ that sounds great. Man I'm glad folks are posting more vids of their set ups to give others an idea of how good an upgrade can sound. With regard to the kappas and BT's. When I first switched from Kappas to 7p1 I too thought the kappas were louder. I wouldn't confuse clarity and SQ with brightness. The kappas are bright and those bright highs seem to sound loud but SQ went to the BT's. For me the difference with the Pros was the amount of power the could handle and continue to get loud. Keep us posted on the B52.
Oh and since no ones given you crap yet, I liked the first song better!!

Question for Haze---do the Pros bring that much better of a sound quality over the non-Pros? I'm really leaning towards the standard 7.1's from a price standpoint

I think the main advantage of the Pros is they can play much louder. SQ wise they are close.
If your giving them each 125w I think it's very close. Now 175w the Pros keep singing. I think the Pros are worth it if you have the amp to push it. The 7p1 paired with a PN4.1000D for example is tough to beat for the price.
