Default MTX Soundbar question...

Got my soundbar installed on the Heritage. Sound is OK but would love it to be louder. It has 3.5mm input and output ports. Has anyone used these to boost output? If so, how? Also have seen apps that supposedly boost volume on the iPhone. Would these help

Is the output so you can add a second unit for more volume?

Yes...or subwoofer. VERY limited as far as room on my bike, though.

That is always the issue with units of this size, not much sound volume or sq. Best bet would have been a small marine amp in the bags with two pod speakers mounted on the handlebars or crash bars with Bluetooth controllers.
I've seen guys that have converted their soft bags into full blown speaker/amp setups but obviously you can kiss storage good bye.

I'm in the same boat as you are trying to obtain good volume/sq for my wife's heritage classic. I've tried about everything out there, even custom built a couple of setups, and all to no avail.

What are you using to feed audio to the system, iPod-phone? Make sure your output volume, from whatever your using, is at max volume when playing. Also if it's an iPhone or iPod you can set the built in eq at treble boost or loudness. This will help it some.

Never mind...found it. I also ordered a small amp to go between phone and unit. We'll see if it helps....

I don't know if I would do that buddy. Does that thing have an internal amplifier already?

That's an auxiliary OUTPUT, and is not a loop. It's designed to use the mtx as a controller ONLY and feed a audio signal out to an external source. It can be an amplifier but the external amp HAS TO be feeding separate speakers.
You can't amplify an amplified system buddy.
Now you can add external waterproof speaker pods being fed by an external amp being fed audio from the mtx. Honestly that would be insane overkill and WONT sound any better.
I'd ditch the mtx and research some external speaker/amp packages available. Just don't expect too much from it.
Not sure what type of helmet you use but whenever I ride one of my single up bikes, deluxe or the like, I uses a pair of Sure earbuds with my iPod or phone. That sounds better than any amp/speaker will on these type of bikes

Yeah...not interested in earbuds. I like to hear what's coming up on me and around me.
