Turbo my Sporty...EFI/ECU Advice Needed
Okay, So I’m very happy with my old 86 FXR turbo, but using it as a daily commute is starting to wear things out quickly (it's more an overall age thing rather than me thrashing the living heck out of her).
So I have a new daily ride in the form of a 99% stock 09 883 Sporty AND having a spare Aerocharger in the shed I’m thinking “what the hell – why not turbo the Sporty as well! A bike that light and nimble would an absolute hoot with 5lbs of boost running through her”
I am comfortable fabbing up the pipes, brackets and plumbing myself as soon as I decide what side of the bike to locate the blower on (am leaning towards the left side per the original Aerocharger locations, but plumbing room is a real premium on the newer Sporties).
The BIG difference here is that this bike is EFI and I know that the factory ECU will not handle boost at all, so the question I have is:
“What’s the best/most common ECU/EFI Controller that you chaps tend to run with?”
Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
Cheers

+1. My bike runs on a thunder max. You can get Power Commander of which some directly support a map sensor otherwise you need to hook it up to the 5v terminal block on it. The t-max will run you more but save a lot of grief in my estimation.
