An update on the Arlen Ness Big Brake rotor caliper bracket revision; Stephen from Arlen Ness just called and the new 02-972-1 caliper brackets are back on the shelf so I ordered the new version to replace my current bracket... $50...

Default put the bike on the ground and added locking detachable hardware...

Put the old tire back on the rear (so sad)... and to the bike off the fear lift. going to take it out tomorrow.

wet from me washing off the various grease and nonsense i got all over it over the past weeks of work.

added the locking hardware to the detachable sissy bar that randomly appeared on the bike and i never mentioned.

took the bike out and seems like the gear shift lever doesn't want to come back to the "ready" position. did some quick forum digging and it looks like i need to clean the the filth and corrosion from the shaft by the peg. thoughts?

either way, i'll address it when the new shift linkage rod gets here next week

Yeah, disassemble/clean/lube the whole shifter lever and linkage. It all looks really dry.

what do you use to lube it? anti-seize?

No. Anti-seize is actually a pretty poor low pressure lube. It's got a lot of metal in it and is gritty.

I use a high pressure grease. Lithium grease, bearing grease, etc.

You my also want to check the end play on the lever shaft. There should be a few thousandths end play. Loosen the spline to adjust.

For linkage systems like this, I like to test/adjust one joint at a time to help eliminate problems. Take off the linkage and ensure both levers work freely and then try the ball joints on the linkage.
