if it is under the clear coat... you can still heat it wiht a heat gun, then use a razor to lift the edge and pull it off... then just have the tank cleared, or you can wet sand the ridges and buff it out
Do a search for removing the tank badge...that topic has been beaten to death on here lately. As far as removing the pin stripping...NEVER NEVER NEVER (did I say NEVER?) go anywhere near a bike with a razor blade...I don't care what your going to use it for! Just my opinion.
Hi, I would like to remove the pinstripe and badging from the tank on my low rider. Is this possible? Is the pinstripe painted under the clearcoat?
I'm with you wiegs, I hate the pinstriping and emblem. Yes it is under the clearcoat, at least on my LowRider. I'm going to re-do my tins in a semi-matte black and probably do a black chrome finish on my, now chrome console.
Your bike, Do what you want. If you mess it up there is always a way to fix it. Will cost some money but hey you have a harley then you have some money to put in it.
Probably suggest having the tank redone (what color is it?) the you can have the look you want. Trying to do what you proposed without the skills (like me) sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
