Tank Emblem Removal

Use a hair dryer on low to soften the glue holding the emblem, the slowly peel it off. You may need to use fishing line or something similar to remove it. Then use goo-gone to remove the remaining residue off that tank

Use a heat gun and then run some fishing line under the emblem once you get it warmed up. The glue that's left behind will peel off but you'll burn your fingers because you have to keep it hot.
Then try some lighter fluid to remove the rest of the glue.
Worked on my bike just fine.

WD-40 works ok too and shouldn't ruin your finish. Just take your time and be VERY gentle or you will mark the paint. If you scratch the hell out of it, you should be able to wet-sand and polish, but taking sandpaper to your tank wont be fun.
