Lifts the front of the tank and Gives a little room between the bottom of the tank and top of the motor.. Purely fer looks.. I have split tanks and had to make my own brackets ta lift mine 2 inches, Im planning on designing a new set to lift it a couple more.. With the rake I run and no frame stretch it just kinda makes the bike look a little more balanced..

Makes it easy to clean the top of the engine if you have chrome rocker boxes.

It totally makes the engine run cooler, number one reason. The other stuff they said is just a bonus.

Looks cool, and easier to get to your wiring. If ya change bars and such as often as I do, it's nice!

Reasons for tank lift mentioned above. Here's some before and after photos below. Most kits are 2" to 3". I lifted up my tank until it looked right to me, bottom of the tank is even with the very top of the rocker covers. Made some brackets from some metal shelfing material, pipe, threaded rod, chrome acorn nuts & washers, turned out to be 1.60".

It might keep the gas a degree cooler too, also makes a little more like a chopper look,imo...maybe better airflow.
