Default better brakes

Fat bob dosnt stop the greatest. looks like pads have plenty of life. Are there better pads for better stopping power other than stock pads?

We like the Lyndall Z Plus pads over stock. Less dust, better stopping power, better all the way around.

If you don't mind, what are you comparing the braking power to? Just asking because mine stops really well when I need it to. It just needs a bit more input than the other bikes I've owned. Hope you find a solution.

I had a really hard time adjusting to the stopping distance on my bike, coming from a sport bike. I think eventually when I stop spending money on other type of stuff I would like to get dual brakes up front!

i have dual brakes on a fat bob but it just seems slow to stop. ill prob have to ride another Harley to compare. ill try another set of pads. the back brakes r the worst. they dont even work if i dont use the fronts. Ive never been able to lock them up

You are right about the rear brake. It takes A LOT of input to feel the rear brake working if you are using it alone. I went from sport bikes to a metric cruiser (with awesome brakes) to my Fat Bob. It just took a little getting used to. I think you'll agree with time.

Different friction material can make a big difference. H-D has their three brake suppliers build in a certain feel, which takes greater effort that comparable Japanese or European bikes. They kind of assume that their customers don't want a "two finger" front brake for instance, and hence their brakes take a fist or entire foot full of effort to engage.
