Default Cam install without wheel?

Been tearing down my buddy's bike for winter mods, a 2010 FXDWG.

We have both wheels off, no handlebars, levers, etc. Clutch cable just dangling.

Now he decided he wants cams and ordered the TW-555 and PV tuner. The install instructions say to put in 5th gear and use tire to rotate engine...not possible right now.

Anybody have any ideas, or do we just need to wait until reassembly to put the cams in?

If the belt is still attached why not try just pulling it. Might be difficult but do-able. If he has adjustable pushrods, just do the cams last. Takes less than an hour if you have adjustable pushrods. Cut out the old ones with a bolt cutter and remove the cover plate, pressure plate, cams, install bearings, etc....easy

Yea that's a better idea. You could go both directions that way

Pulling the plugs might make this easier.

Yeah, thought about the comp nut, but I think we will just wait as to not have to pull the primary inside the house (the bike is in his living room lol). He got the FuelMoto install kit with the adjustable rods, so no biggie just waiting. Also tried pulling the belt, but just kept slipping before it turned the motor (this was with the plugs out)
