In-tank fuel line removal 2004 FXDWGI
Hey guys,
My brother left his bike at my place because he has they symptoms of an in-tank fuel leak. I took the pump assembly out, and disconnected the line that runs to the output/petcock assembly at the back of the tank from the pump.
I can't figure out how to remove this line/assembly from inside the tank? He didn't leave me a service manual and the one I have is for my 2000 carb bike. I couldn't find any tutorials online how to remove that line.
What I am talking about is the part I circled in red. How do I get it out of the tank?
We are going to be replacing both lines with Gates submersible hose and replacing the fuel pickup sock and fuel filter while in there.

Is been awhile, but if I remember correctly I had to disconect the hose (at the connection above the one circled) and unscrew the part circled...that is after you take the quick connect off the outside of the tank...I spilled fuel at this point...thought I had it all out but obviously didn't

I have the whole assembly outside of the tank, i can replace the line on the fuel assembly, but the line from the assembly to the tank output is still inside the tank. If I had smaller hands I could try and get the line disconnected from the output and get the new one on while still inside the tank, but I think I'm going to have to pull the output to get the new line on because I can't get my hands down there.
