Default Grip upgrade question

Bought some new Harley brand grips from my dealer today which I assume some of you have done also. My question is the directions do not show glue being required on the clutch side grip, does this sound right? If so, any tricks to getting it on without any glue in helping it slide onto the bar?

If you have a newer bike the left side grip is held in place by the switch cover. Just like on the throttle side.

I have the new Slipstream grips and they are held on by the switch covers and are tight. No slipping.

I installed some Avons without any glue, like people have said, it is held in place by the switch housing.

Yep, they are held in place by the switch cover, no glue required. Just installed a new set on mine too.

Just throw the left side on there, they are held in with the factory controls... you'll have fun with the right side though getting the throttle cables and the ferrals on there

I actually still used the old "super-sticky" hairspray trick on the Left-side...little extra security from slippage.
