Anybody fitted TW26A cams?
#2
I did a good bit of research when it came time to replace my cams on the S/E Road Glide.
Those cams are built for the slightly higher compression on the 95" Big Bore Stage II that I have vs the 88" ( Andrews 21 recommended,) but will work on both. Because I'm all about longevity, I liked the lower lift (.495") to keep it easy on the valve train too.
226* Intake duration gives the low end grunt, and rolling it on was significantly stronger than the S/E 203's they replaced ( and those were no slouch either.) I can't imagine how much fun they'd be on a lighter bike!
There's only one Andrews that I know of with a lower intake duration (220) and I would,'t look at that unless I had a sidecar

Well I fitted them on saturday and they give some interesting results.
Bike is louder
Idle is lumpy
Didn't feel much improved when I first rode it until I looked at the speedo and realised that what felt like 60mph was actually 80!!!
Shat myself on the first few corners as I was arriving at them way faster than I thought so I had to go for a long ride to recalibrate my brain.
Riding in cruise mode is when you really notice the torque improvement. It's lovely through the twisties and pulls like a train in mid-range.
Not neck-snappingly fast but its where I want the bike to be now.....trouble with TC's is they are nearly square bore x stroke wise and so you don't get the low down grunt of an Evo or a Shovel but by 'eck they get up and boogie!!
