Default oxygen sensor eliminators with stock stage 1 download

Ok hope not lame question back can you use oxygen sensor eliminators with a stock 2006 harley ECU ? I just wondering if this alone will put the ECU in to open loop all the time neglecting the need for a tuner all i want is for the bike to run like it does when in the open loop area as it sure runs nice there.I tried the PC III unit and it never did work right.

Why don't you just install a set of Niterider XIED's if you want it richer on the low and mid range throttle openings?

I have a 07 super glide with screamin eagle stage 1 intake & k&n air filter, Vance & Hines Straight Shot slip ons, Vance & Hines Fuelpak and xieds from nightrider.com and the bike runs great and has plenty of smooth power all around. I've been told that the fuelpak and xeids work really well together because the xieds work in closed loop and the fuelpak works in open loop. I would be interested to find out if o2 eliminators would help it run better.

Default O2 sensors

It would be better to work with the O2 sensors than eliminate them.

That's the way my '06 has been running for the past 3 years. I have a Big Sucker on in with stock exhaust and o2 sensor eliminators. I used to have a pcIII on it and it ran ok but when I switched back to the factory slip ons I just took it off. Surprisingly it ran better that way and still gets a pretty consistent 44-49 mpg.

The only time I would consider using the 02 eliminators if I had a fuel manger that requires it. Even the PCV does not use eliminators, they just are not contacted.
Older versions did use them.

The 2006 dyna is a different beast. It has a specific xied for it called the DYN oied. I have it on mine and because of the way the 2006 is, it makes the check engine light come on after idleing for like a minute and switch into open loop until you take off and it will switch back to closed loop. Ask Steve at night rider if you have any questions.
