Oh Man! That is freaky! Except for a catastrophic rear-ender I can't even begin to imagine how your L-plate could break off like that, motor vibes or no motor vibes!
Well, if you ever wanted to change your personalized plate guess now would be a good time to do it.
It's been a couple of weeks since you completed the 30T pulley swap, any new info/observations you want to share? Ride safe.

The 30T mod has been great, love the new gearing - not a huge change but is very noticeable. Still think my clutch engages a bit too close to the grip, so I will do the derby adjustment again with a 1/2 turn instead of the 3/4 turn I did during the mod. If it works out like I hope, I'll post the info on the thread.

Could you please ellaborate? What happened? It looks to me like your license plate was ripped off with the upper left and right corners of the plate still attached(bolted in). Do you consider this a failure of the tribar design? I was considering getting one of these. I was actually looking at http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tri-Bar-Fend...-/360653496955 which is allot cheaper than the HD model.

No, this is not a Tri-bar failure. I have modified(shortened) the bottom part of the license holder, and now the license plate is only supported by the top 2 bolts. The plate had been rattling, so I put some soft sealing strips on the bracket(3 strips in pic) and on the back of the plate to stop the rattling, but I guess the vibrating fatigued the areas next to the bolt attachments and bye, bye license plate.
