No tail light?
I was at the NHRA event and Norwalk, Ohio this weekend and I stopped by the HD display and they had WG that looked great. Anyway, the bike had no tail light and used the turn signals as both tail and break lights and signals. They had a side licence plate mount. I didn't care for the horizontal licence plat mount as I think a vertical one tucked in close would look better. But I did like the idea of no tail light. Is there a way I can do that on my 07 FXDC so I can smooth out the fender for a cleaner look?

This is the new chopped fender kit from HD. I just installed the kit myself an it comes with everything you need to do exactly what you described. All you would need to do is add a side mount plate bracket. I bought mine off ebay from an HD dealer for $380.
The other option is to add a a run/stop/turn module. HD has this one

and there are a few other company's that make them. If you went this route you would need to have a body shop fill the hole from your stock tail light or figure out something to cover it with.

Several threads lately about certain states enforcing the law about vertical license plates. The LEO's don't like to turn their head sideways to read the plate. Not sure about where you ride but maybe check into it before you spend any money converting it.
Enjoy
