Do I really need to take it to the dealer for my first 1000 mile service?

 

You don't HAVE to, they may argue over warranty items if you don't though. I bit the bullet and had them do that one, since then it hasn't been back except for a fender issue that was covered under warranty.

 

I just had a thread about sending the bike over to the stealership for the 1k service, initially I didn't want to cough up the doe but for the peace of mind I did it anyway and it'll probably the only time it'll see the dealer service until 10k then 20k. If your worried about warranty being voided don't be as long as u itemize and keep ur receipts you'll be ok. Good luck
