Default Twinkie rebuild : lets fix it once and for all. ideals ?

I have a 2000 ultra classic.
She's a scorching hot sun of a gun.
Bone stock.
I want to leave it basically stock. But lets get rid of the extreme heat.
And fix the motor shake at idle.
And fix the buzzy floorboards.
I do have vance and hines 2-1 exhaust on it. Only reason we did that was to move the pipe away from the passengers floorboard, it fried my wifes right foot.
....
I don't care what i have to do. Plz give me your ideals on what to do.
Thanks.

Engine cooling fans such as the Jims Forceflow or the Wards fans will lower head and cylinder temps substantially. A good oil cooler will lower oil temps, but not head/cylinder temps (much). Getting a good tune could also make a difference if your current tune is lean.

First place to start on the vibration issue is the motor mounts.

Glide Pro front motor mount will reduce the shake at idle but a rubber mounted, odd firing vtwin is going to move around at idle. If you want no shake at idle, buy a softail.

Wards fan setup will cool things down a bit and an oil cooler as has been suggested.

A good fuel management system and proper dyno tune should help as well.

Wow...eliminating shake at idle, don't hear that request often. A softail sure, but those won't do what you probably like about owning an ultra. Maybe a brand change would be fitting...Honda for example.

I've owned the GL1800 . Great bike. Loved it.
Too tall. Too heavy.
The ultra fits me perfect.
I don't mind a little shake. But not paint shaker style. Mine shakes so hard at a stop light my vision is blurred. That's not normal.
Ok... called a shop.. he say ?
Motor mounts. Yes.
Oil cooler .yes.
Tear down weld and true crank.
Replace cam chains with gears.
SERT ???? Computer chip ? Re tune , slow down idle.
He thinks she's running way to lean.
And of course dyno.
We shall see.

If your bike is EFI, changes are it has the Magneti Marelli system. That is going to limit your choices in piggy back tuners because it was only used for about 3 years.

Dyno = retune.

Sounds like the front motor mount has failed or is worn out. 15 years old if it is the original one. How may miles?
The front motor mount also gets drenched in oil a lot of the time from changing the filter.
Also check the stabilizer rod ends. Probably some wear there with the engine shaking that hard.

The '00 models had a forged crank with Timken lefty bearing. Measure the runout before "Tear down weld and true crank". My bet is that it measures around .0015", very low and more than acceptable, even for gear driven cams. If so, not the source of your vibration.

Gear driven cams will not affect heat or vibration, only improve valve timing. Not needed for a stock motor.

Oil cooler will cool oil a good bit (good for motor), but will not substantially affect the major source of engine heat - heads and cylinders. I have both a Jagg 10-row oil cooler and a Jims Forceflow fan. The latter does MUCH more to lower engine temps.

I would focus first on the motor mounts and getting a good tune...

May need nothing more than a skilled tuner to attend to the needs on the MM system, to tame the shaking, and heat as well.
