Andrews 57H cams in a 2016 stage 1 Ultra Limited?
#31
Not sure how a 107" motor got into the thread but the OP's question was regarding the advisability of installing a set of Andrews 57 cams in a Stage 1 103" motor (2016 Ultra Limited).
In Stage I trim, published static CR is 10:1 which I would bet if measured is actually less. IMHO and as has been pointed out in the thread, that is on the low side considering that the 57 like 10.2/10.3 and some say even 10.5. Nobody has dissed the 57 cams as being bad cams but just suggesting that they might not be the best cam for the OPs application.
A Stage 1 103" motor with 57 cams typically makes 95HP/105TQ, give or take a couple; if exhaust is just right, maybe just shy of 100HP/110TQ tops. Not bad and would pull good in a dyna or softail, maybe even a Street Glide but will be lacking off idle in an Ultra, two up and loaded. Based on the OPs situation, the advice to consider other cams or install the 57 at 4* advance is pretty good advice IMHO.
Once you start talking head work, larger displacement, more compression, etc., that's a completely different conversation.

I have a new set of Andrews 57H cams that I was gonna put in my Twin Cooled Ultra Limited
It has FM Jackpot 2-1-2 header and Rineharts and SE Ventilator
I am also using a Power Vision from FM
It runs out great
Gonna do a cam only change next month
Is it worth my time to put the 57H cams in it?
Or are the Andrews 48H or Woods 222 better suited?
Maybe the cam only change over the cams in it now isnt worth it
Bike is Twin Cooled so I think it is at 10.2 comp
Thanks

I'm in process upgrading to Andrews 57H myself.

(Below) is a copy & paste from Andrews Website.
It appears Andrews lists this cam for 103 Limited. Max torque: 2200-5600 RPM.
A heavy touring bike that suggests 2 up riding.
Andrews #216357 57H 18/38 100 236 270 .560 .184 Stock
.................................46/14 106 240 274 .560 .153 and CVO 110 engines.
New in 2012: Bolt-in, broad tip cams: 96, 103 Limited, & CVO 110. Max torque:2200-5600 RPM.
I agree it might not be the best performer, but it's also not what some are indicating it's not good for either.

The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.

48H is another good cam. Cams are like a good woman, there are so many to choose from.
