Default Fuel Pump Whine constantly on EFI?

Just got my 97 Road King with EFI. When I drove it home I didn't notice any noise at all. Now I can hear the fuel pump (I'm pretty sure) high pitch whine all the time, not just when I first turn the ignition switch on. I can't hear it, obviously, when I'm going down the road but as soon as I slow down down to stop I can start hearing it.

The only thing I've done since I brought it home is fill the tank with premium and put a little Seafoam in it. Any idea what could cause this? Fuel filter need changing? Fuel pump going out? I don't want this to turn into something that strands me.

Sounds like the hose is leaking inside the tank.

I'm probably going to pull the whole filter/regulator assy. and replace the filter, maybe the regulator and check/replace the hoses. What do you think?

So you guys hear it any time the engine is running? On mine the pitch varies with the speed of the engine and it is definitely coming from the side of the tank that the pump is on.

My '98 doesn't really wine.....it is more of a hum. It runs all the time.....more RPM then the pitch rises. That is just how they are....

As long as you can hear it....there is nothing wrong with it. When you don't hear it....then something is wrong.
