I understand this is probably an unusual request. But my brother makes custom knives. He is looking for some old final drive chain from Harley Davidson motorcycles to use to make Damascus steel for a couple of custom knives. He says he can use primary chain but would prefer finial drive chain.

We have looked around locally and can't find very much. So I am wondering if anyone on this forum has some or knows of some for sale. Right now he is looking for several pieces but I'm not positive how much.

If anyone has any chain or knows where we can find some, I would appreciate you letting me know.

Have you looked at your local scrap yards? How about the local junk yards for timing chains, wheel bearings etc?
Post on your local CL and see what finds you.

 

Check out local dealers and indies. They usually have a pile of take offs and junk parts that gets sold to scrap dealers.

 

Go hit up any local import bike service department if the don't have one handy they will have shortly, finding a harley chain will be a swap meet gig at best nobody holds onto them.
