Default Local dealer matched Kutter on ESP

I was fortunate to negotiate a price $30 over Kutter at my local dealer for a 5 year ESP. Dd not even mention Kutter, Just made an offer and it was accepted, no wheel and tire. $1300 OTD

I want to replace the tires with Michelin Commander IIs at $176 and $120 plus $120 installation at an indy when I need them, I think Harley's wheel and tire requires Harley tires, so I passed besides the roads are pretty good here so I don't worry about the solid wheels.

Probably won't need the ESP but it will come in handy when I go to sell the bike. I may want a lighter HD in a couple years if I find myself hanging close to home...or gasp....... maybe try an Indian for awhile.

I wonder if my dealer would go for that? My local dealer wants over $2,500 for a 5 year esp.

Mine did as well. I went with Kutter. I couldn't believe that I got the price I got. $1300 with wheel and tire, 5 years. Good luck.

The excuse I get here in FL is that it is an "Insurance Policy" & the "State of Florida" mandates you can't negotiate the price of an insurance policy. I think that's B/S, but we'll see. I always bought from Kutter in the past, but can't do that anymore. BTW, are the terms you're quoting for the extra years, or do they include the 2 year factory warranty? I know when I was getting the spiel from the F/I person, the term they mentioned always includes the factory warranty. $2500 seems high for the "7 Year Term" (2+5), and $1300 seems very low, more like a "5 Year Term" (2+3).

$2500 is what my local charges for the 7 year (aka 2+5), with the wheel and tire included.

The $2,500 was just for 5 years, not 7. The dealer that I'm talking about, which is the closest one to me, is the most greedy dealer I've been to. They jack up the costs on everything including bikes and your lucky if you get them to work with you on bike prices. I came across a guy that wanted to buy a bike from them that they wanted $17,500 out the door, he offered them $17,000 out the door and they wouldn't take it. They tried to charge me over $16,000 for a used dyna fatbob and I ended up getting my super glide at a Suzuki dealership for half that because it was being sold on consignment.

Yep, you're right! $2500 is the MSRP for what they call the "7 year plan" (2+5). I can't believe they are that expensive! At Kutter's $1900ish, I was tempted, but at $2500+, I'll take my chances.

Thats not a bad price for six with wheel. I don't understand the need for wheel and tire when one can get better tires for less money than Dunlops. After a tire is worn the wheel and tire does not pay. Protects a newish tire well enough.

I would probably get it with laced wheels though. they can be a pain in the *** and an "instant tow" if a screw is picked up.
