Default keeping rust off o-ring chain

OK so I put on an o-ring chain for a few reasons, but one so I would not have to oil it. It has got some slight rust buildup. What is the best way to keep it off other than oiling it?

You still have to oil a chain even if it has O or X rings.

Install a Scott Oiler.

Get yourself some PJ1 and get used to a grimy swing arm.

The best way to clean an O ring chain is with kerosene, a parts cleaning brush and a tray underneath. Maxima chain wax (spray) is designed to protect O ring chains.

The O ring helps keep the lube inside the links, not outside. The chain still needs occasional cleaning and lube

Can of Tri-Flow and a towle. That'll clean it, lube it and protect it.

OK, thanks guys. I had heard you did not have to lube them. Figured it was too good to be true. Still a lot better chain than what I had on there.
