Age 70+ riders?
I just talked with a friend who owns an Indian. He said at the end of this season he was putting his bike up for sale. He is 64 and he thought it was time. He's in very good health.
I am 72 and in good shape for being an old guy (but not a "geezer" or an "old fart")...good vision, good balance, 6'2" and weigh 195. However, I am starting to think it that it is about time to sell my Harleys and move on something fast with four wheels. No trikes for me. My current bikes are a 1995 Sportster 1200 and a 2002 tricked out SuperGilde. I am a "conservative" rider who sticks pretty much to riding blue highways. I try to avoid Interstates. I'm taking blue highways to Sturgis this year.
I'd like to hear from those riders who are over 70 and are still up on two wheels. How long to you plan to ride on only two wheels....not three?
Oh, my possible replacement for the Harleys....the most "bad ***" Ford Mustang that I can afford. No offense to trike riders. They simply are not for me. For $32,000+, I'll take a bit more comfort as I "search for adventure".

At 67 it was my goal to ride just as long as I can. But I'm now recovering from a total ankle replacement so not as sure. But if it isn't a bike I'll be on a trike. Riding is the ONLY time I'm not in pain normally. Right now doesn't count. As long as I can twist the throttle, I'm riding. Unless being bionic gets in the way. I was already looking into down sizing though. May have to accelerate that.

73, still ride , no intention of giving them up due to age .
I still ride a dirtbike sometimes ( a lot slower than I used to)
Now if I develop a physical, or mental problem that's another story.
there is no magic number , some people are "old, out of shape at 40.
To each his own .

I got an old non-running Ural sidecar rig recently (and got it running), joke that I'm preparing for 70 (67 now). Actually got it for giving my grandkid (5) rides, minivan replacement (I'd seldom buy anything that wouldn't fit in it), and mostly just for something different, never rode one before. I don't think I'd ever take this thing for all day rides, but if I get to a point where I can't handle two wheels, it might actually be an alternative. Depressing thought...

Arthritis, gout and cubital tunnel syndrom is kicking my butt. I don't want to keep on drugs to keep riding. went out today for 74mi and I am feeling it. Hope to finish riding in a few months when I retire at 66.
