Default Hard Kicking It Into Neutral?

I am a bit embarrassed. After many years of riding daily racking up a huge number of miles, I finally figured it out..........

If you have difficulty kicking the shifter into neutral, you may want to try what follows below. (THIS may be common sense for you but it was NOT for me, so maybe this will help others.)

I adjusted the clutch so when you release the clutch it starts to "catch" just a little bit later than normal.

I then took the bike out for a ride and WOW, what a difference. I was able to repeatedly kick it into neutral of the 1st time, time and time again for about 6-7 tries right in a row. What a DREAM it is now without hunting for neutral and missing it over and over and getting frustrated.

I acknowledge this may be common sense for you gearheads but I am anything but mechanically inclined. So I am figuring some of you others are out there a clueless as me. So maybe this will help........

Well done. Another trick is to snick into neutral as you come to a stop. Works for older bikes which don't have such a good gear-change as more recent bikes.

I have to blip the throttle a bit to get Neutral easily while stopped, otherwise it's a PITA.

<1000 rpm, no way. >1000 rpm it's easy. My idle is set around 850-900

I may have to try your trick and see if that changes things, thanks!

Yes my friend. I do not do that tho. I wait while in gear and only my left foot is on the ground until 2 (not 1) but 2 cars (or more) behind me come to a full stop. Then and only then do I often kick it into neutral.

Sometimes I used to let the throttle out a little bit enough to move the bike inches, then pull the throttle back in and I can kick it into neutral.

Thank you tho my friend!
