Very difficult to find, very close to 1st and 2nd just a lite tap, usually miss it a few times when parked, don't remember this being an issue on my Sporster.
mine's hit or miss.. seemed to have improved by switching lubes. Makes no sense as to why it would.. I'm generally just mindful to give it a small tap rather than a clunk in to 2nd

Usually no problem when going from 1st to N. Going from 2nd to N it's rather a 50:50 thing to hit N or 1st. Probably I only suffer a lack of motor skills
Make sure your clutch is properly adjusted, linkage is adjusted, and fluids are right.
Don't know if, in 40+ years, I've ever tried 2nd to neutral - so no thoughts on that.
Adjusted mine yesterday and neutral is easier now.
Adjust clutch basket cold and lever adjustment according to shop manual. Install Shell Rotella T dino oil in the primary, 32 oz, no more. Install synthetic gear lube in tranny. This will get you the best and quietest shift possible. Also from 1st gear heal tap you shifter.
I am having difficulty finding neutral when the engine is shut off, before start the engine, sorry guys.
Sit on the bike and turn on ignition: rock bike forward and back and put it in 1st with lever pulled in. Tap heel on lever and it should drop into neutral.
When stop, I kill the engine, then I reach down with my hand to put it in neutral. With my foot, it just takes several tries. With my hand, first try every time.
