Default Bad Voltage Regulator ???

'95 Road king w/ 18500 miles. When idling and voltage meter on battery terminals, volts will increase to 17v as throttle accelerates up(idling in neutral.) When driving, odometer readout will begin to flash on acceleration and completely go out at high rpm. Will come back on when stopped and at idle. Thanks !!!

That's high for voltage out of the regulator, should me around 14.5 volts at 2000 rpm. There is a point at which too much voltage can fry your system. You should get your system checked.
